Summary: Oil & Gas Title Attorney (Appalachia) needed for a full-time, remote position with Oliva Gibbs, a client-focused law firm specializing in serving oil and gas companies nationwide. The ideal candidate will have experience in oil and gas law and will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with an active license. This role involves conducting title examinations, drafting title opinions, negotiating and drafting contracts, staying updated on relevant laws and regulations, and working collaboratively with team members. Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct title examinations and identify ownership rights related to oil and gas properties • Draft title opinions highlighting any defects, liens, or other issues • Conduct due diligence reviews for oil and gas transactions • Negotiate and draft contracts to protect client interests and comply with laws • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations • Collaborate with litigation attorneys if legal action becomes necessary • Work collaboratively with team members • Meet quarterly billable requirements • Actively pursue learning opportunities • Support other activities and projects as assigned
Position Requirements:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license • At least one year of experience drafting title opinions for lands in Ohio, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania • Familiarity with preparing large, unit-wide division order ownerships • Commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality • Excellent interpersonal communication skills • Passion for professional development and skill enhancement • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
