Winstead PC, a leading law firm in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking a Nurse Paralegal to join their Business Litigation Practice Group on a part-time, as-needed basis. This position requires a nursing degree and preferably 2 years of legal experience, with a focus on medical records review and summary. The ideal candidate will also have experience in a hospital setting and some understanding of elder health issues and dementia. Key Responsibilities: • Perform medical records review and summary, using medical training to explain the records, results, examinations, medications, etc. • Assist attorneys with understanding medical terminology and complex medical issues in legal cases • Conduct research and gather evidence related to medical issues in legal cases • Communicate with clients, medical professionals, and other parties involved in legal cases • Maintain accurate and organized records and documentation
Qualifications: • Nursing degree required • Paralegal certificate and/or 2 years of legal experience preferred • Experience in a hospital setting is a plus • Understanding of elder health issues and dementia is helpful • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
