New Business Intake Coordinator - Operations Department at Law Firm
Overview: Burr & Forman LLP, a leading law firm, is seeking a highly motivated New Business Intake Coordinator to join our team in either our Columbia, SC or Birmingham, AL office. This full-time position will support the firm's New Business Intake Department by screening potential conflicts, conducting due diligence, and ensuring compliance with professional conduct rules and client guidelines. This is a great opportunity for someone with legal experience and a desire to work in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Process new matter requests using the firm's conflicts software - Conduct background checks and due diligence for new matters - Review new matters for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all necessary documents are attached - Enter new matter data into the conflicts software - Maintain client matter information, such as addresses and names - Track and follow up on executed engagement letters - Close matters in billing and conflicts systems - Assist with outside counsel guidelines, including uploading documents and confirming the most recent version with attorneys - Other duties as needed
Requirements: - 3-5 years of legal experience, preferably in New Business Intake at a law firm - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience - Familiarity with InTapp and Aderant preferred - Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook - Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive - Able to balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Some overtime may be required
