Position Description: - Conduct family mediations for court referred family division cases - Facilitate discussion of legal issues between involved parties - Inform litigants about mediation process prior to commencement - Draft settlement agreements, court orders, and impasse reports - Review agreements with all parties involved and manage execution - Prepare for mediation by reviewing case files and pertinent documents - Complete closing paperwork and statistical records/reports - Participate in trainings, meetings, and projects related to county/family division or mediation - Seek self-education about changes in family law and rules of procedure
Essential Duties: - Conduct family mediations for court referred cases dealing with parental responsibility, time-sharing, equitable distribution, child support, alimony, relocation, etc. - Prepare/draft settlement agreements, court orders, or impasse reports for all mediated cases - Review agreements with all parties involved and ensure execution - Prepare for mediations by reviewing case files and pertinent documents - Complete closing paperwork and maintain statistical records/reports - Participate in and attend trainings, meetings, and projects related to county/family division or mediation - Stay informed about changes in family law and rules of procedure
Education and Experience Guidelines: - Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, law, or related field - Experience: 5 years of related experience - Certifications: Florida Supreme Court Family Mediation Certification, willing to obtain Dependency Mediation Certification - Language: Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, not required

The Tenth Judicial Circuit is seeking a qualified Family Mediator to join their team. The Family Mediator will be responsible for conducting family mediations and drafting settlement agreements. This position requires knowledge of the legal system, family court processes and procedures, family law, and the Family Law Rules of Civil Procedure. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
