Job Description
Assumes leadership role for multiple stores throughout a designated geographical area with accountability for maximizing business results through consistent direction and follow up. Builds high performance teams through recruiting, developing, coaching; as well as retention and succession planning of top talent. Ensures execution of all company merchandising and operational standards. Strategically reacts to and analyzes business metrics through root cause analysis to maximize productivity. Creates a remarkable internal and external customer environment where decisions are value based to include: accountability, collaboration and humility. Reports to Regional Manager. Supervises Store Managers, Store Associates, Operations & Merchandise Managers, Assistant Operations & Merchandise Managers. Must possess the ability to:
Drive Financial and service results:
•Achieves district business metrics and objectives including: sales, profitability, shrink, payroll and staffing
•Ensures exceptional customer experiences through the effective implementation of the MOD program and application of the DSW service model.
•Operates district with entrepreneurial spirit that inspires out of the box thinking to impact business results
•Analyzes daily, weekly, monthly business results and store visits to pursue ways to drive greater performance level of direct reports.
•Achieves results without compromising quality or integrity of work

•Takes personal accountability for delivering results
•Motivates and inspires through shared vision and clear goals
•Presents facts clearly and has a teachable point of view
•Is an effective listener that inspires trust and respect of direct reports
•Has an ability to lead through and adapt to change

Team Development:
•Develops a peer network internally and externally to build strong recruitment and succession planning for district/region
•Establishes and communicates a clear, compelling vision for the team that inspires empowerment to meet or exceed company objectives
•Assesses how to motivate many kinds of direct reports and team members
•Establishes and facilitates career paths for each manager through individual development planning and performance coaching
•Empowers team to set high standards and achieve them
•Values and appreciates inclusion and diversity
•Partners with Human Resources in the implementation and administration of associate policies, programs, practices and procedures aimed at attracting, retaining and motivating Associates.
•Actively promotes strong management and associate dynamics consistent with DSW policies, local laws and regulations
Merchandising and Operations:
•Ensures execution of all company merchandising and visual direction to positively impact sales and the customer experience
•Assures that merchandise flow meets company set standards and closely monitors sell through. Works closely with corporate business partners to capitalize on business opportunities
•Manages resources to maximize financial goals
Qualifications:
•Minimum 3-5 years district manager in specialty retail environment or equivalent work experience
•Minimum of Associates degree or equivalent work experience
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Proven ability to motivate others
•Proficiency in base computer use, including e-mail, MS Word or other word processing program and Excel or other spreadsheet program.
