The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to join their Child Support Division (CSD) as a Managing Attorney. This position involves providing direction and guidance to the management and legal staff of a Child Support Field Office, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and representing the state's interest in child support enforcement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the State of Texas at legal proceedings - Plan, organize, direct, and monitor office performance - Supervise office personnel and legal processes - Monitor and ensure compliance with regulations and policies - Respond to inquiries and resolve issues from various customers - Serve as primary office legal counsel - Develop and deliver training - Maintain relevant knowledge and attend work regularly - Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive information - Comply with agency policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree - Four years of full-time legal experience as a licensed attorney, with at least two years in Family Law - Licensed as an attorney by the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar - Knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code - Skill in legal writing, mediation, and negotiation - Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines - Effective oral and written communication skills - Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision making - Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback - Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment - Ability to provide excellent customer service - Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location and travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the Texas Child Support Program - Experience in handling a high-volume legal practice - Management experience - Proficiency in Spanish
