The Managing Attorney will be responsible for enforcing national and state fair housing laws, providing direct representation to low-income Maine residents, and engaging in community education and partnership. They will also have management responsibilities, including supervising staff and ensuring compliance with program goals and grant requirements.

Location:
Portland, Lewiston, Augusta or Bangor office; Hybrid remote
- Enforce national and state fair housing laws through direct representation of low-income Maine residents - Provide direct representation in court and administrative complaint processes - Mentor and support paralegals and attorneys in other units of PTLA - Engage in community education and partnership to promote open, accessible, and inclusive communities - Conduct systemic testing to identify and challenge housing discrimination - Supervise staff and ensure compliance with program goals and grant requirements - Model a culture of teamwork and collaboration among staff and volunteers
Qualifications:
- Active and engaged member of Pine Tree’s management team - Commitment to providing high-quality legal services - Understanding of complex litigation - At least five years of litigation experience in state and federal court (preferred) - Experience managing staff and/or volunteers - Commitment to strengthening the quality and reputation of the program - Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills
Compensation and Benefits:
