Job Description: - Highly complex and supervisory (senior-level) legal work - Provide direction and guidance to management and legal staff of a Child Support Field Office - Organize employee work assignments, interpret laws and regulations, and provide legal advice and counsel in child support enforcement - Serve as primary office legal counsel and monitor compliance with regulations - Respond to inquiries and resolve issues from various stakeholders - Attend work regularly and comply with agency policies and procedures
Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school - Four years of full-time legal experience as a licensed attorney, with at least two years in Family Law - Must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas - Knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code is required - Excellent legal writing, mediation, and negotiation skills - Proficiency in using a personal computer for word-processing and data entry/retrieval - Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines - Strong oral and written communication skills - Ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions - Must be able to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback - Ability to work cooperatively in a professional office environment and provide excellent customer service - Must be able to work in person at assigned OAG work location and travel as needed - Must be able to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with the Texas Child Support Program - Experience in handling a high-volume legal practice - Management experience - Proficiency in Spanish
