POSITION OVERVIEW: The primary responsibility of the National Sales Manager - Technology is to develop and manage large group business opportunities/accounts, in accordance with thresholds defined by management, that align with the Company's financial goals, maximize revenues and drive customer loyalty.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and The Venetian Resort's policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
*Meet and exceed quotas and financial goals set by Management. *Effectively solicit all existing, prospective target accounts and qualify (leads) that meet defined business parameters, resulting in closing contracts through effective contract negotiations that align with meeting Company's financial objectives, maximize revenues, and drives customer loyalty. *Develop and maintain account base of business through outbound efforts and customer relationships which maximizes revenue for Company. *Partner with customers to understand their buying process, identify multiple key meeting influencers and roles within the process to effectively cultivate the account. *Partner with customers to understand key meeting priorities and effectively position and align properties unique insights and benefits to customer key priorities to close business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: *Understand the overall market competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand and how to sell against them. *Accurately forecast and report sales pipeline. *Regularly and independently engage with cross-functional departmental leaders and teammates to understand product and services available to Convention groups and how the Hotel differentiates itself from the competitive set. *Travel and participate in sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, networking events, training (as assigned) midweek, evenings and weekends as needed. *Support other members of the Sales Team as needed. *Strong business acumen with keen ability to build and maintain relationships at all business levels. *Sell and close sales across various industries and at all levels of business. ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: *Independently develop, plan, and implement sales strategies aligned with Company values and objectives which are also appropriate for assigned market. Document all pertinent daily sales activities, cataloging account and client information accurately as defined by department SOP's. *Manage effectively within the defined sales roles, internal sales processes and departmental/Company policies and procedures to evaluate and execute sales contracts. *Safety is an essential function of this job. *Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job. *Performs other related duties as assigned. All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company's standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
*21 years of age. *Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States. *High School Diploma or GED required, bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred. *Must be able to obtain and maintain Alcohol Awareness card, and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. *Minimum three years of experience in hotel sales required. Two or more years of experience selling large complex group business, either at property or sales office, preferred. *PC proficient in applications such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Power Point. *Strong presentation skills, both in virtual and in-person formats *Ability to use problem solving and critical thinking skills to build relationships, negotiate, and close sales. *Ability to critically and effectively listen and respond to customers. *Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: *Demonstrated experience:
*Working with meeting planners within large technology companies to secure large meetings, conferences, and events. *Building and maintaining relationships at all levels of busines, including at senior and C-level positions. *Selling and closing high-end or luxury property sales, preferred. *Meeting and exceeding high-level and aggressive sales goals. *Effectively utilizing a variety of sales negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. *Successfully planning, developing, and executing sales strategies particular to assigned market areas.
*Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience. *Ability to work a varied shift, including midweek, evenings and weekends as needed required. Local, regional, and national travel to participate in sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, networking events, training is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to:
*Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation. *Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts. *Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other Team Members, and outside contacts. *Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel. *Work in a fast-paced and busy environment. *Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
