Feerick Nugent MacCartney PLLC, a prestigious law firm in South Nyack, NY, is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Municipal Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate must be admitted to the NYS State Bar and have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in municipal law, local government, and public employment labor law. The position also requires experience in municipal prosecution work, including handling investigations, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.
Responsibilities: • Representing municipalities in local justice courts • Handling investigations and drafting accusatory instruments • Conducting motion practice and negotiating plea bargains • Organizing and sharing discovery • Producing ex parte applications, such as administrative search warrants • Conducting evidentiary hearings and trials • Handling related litigation, arbitration, and other legal proceedings • Attending municipal board meetings and justice courts as needed
Requirements: • NYS State Bar admission • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in municipal law and related areas • Strong interest in local government and public employment labor law • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively
