Managing Attorney for Family Representation Advocacy Program in Tulsa, Oklahoma
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Experience: Minimum 10 years as a licensed attorney, 3 years of supervisory experience, and 5 years of litigation experience in child welfare and deprived court proceedings

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the Family Representation Advocacy Program in Tulsa, Oklahoma. - Work with Executive Director and Regional Director of Social Work to provide high quality legal representation for parents, legal guardians, and Indian custodians throughout the state. - Recruit, train, and support attorney contractors. - Develop strategic approach to FRAP's legal practice and expand interdisciplinary representation to serve all eligible clients. - Assist in budget preparation and other agency-related documents. - Ensure consistent and high-quality legal representation by developing policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. - Maintain a physical presence in courts within assigned region. - Meet with judges to discuss uniform court administration of the Oklahoma Children's Code. - Identify and address systemic problems. - Recruit and determine eligibility of private attorneys seeking annual contracts for parent or child legal representation. - Monitor contract attorneys' caseloads and provide feedback to ensure high-quality services. - Promote the use of interdisciplinary teams for parent and child representation. - Assist in locating and engaging potential experts. - Provide training and technical assistance to contract attorneys. - Identify and create professional development opportunities for attorneys, social workers, and mentors. - Monitor legal developments relevant to FRAP's mission. - Work with Regional Director of Social Work to develop litigation and social work strategies. - Manage resources effectively. - Develop and manage information sharing resources. - Represent FRAP in external meetings, trainings, and conferences. - Ensure social work perspective is included in all training. - Analyze and address potential ethical issues. - Generate management reports and compile data and statistics. - Attend meetings with LASO administrative staff and other offices to discuss management and child welfare issues. - Maintain relationships with judges, bar associations, and other stakeholders. - Meet contractual obligations and reporting requirements. - Work with Executive team to determine staffing for central office.
Requirements:
- Licensed to practice law in Oklahoma and in good standing with Oklahoma Bar Association. - J.D./LL.B. from accredited law school. - Minimum of 10 years' experience as a licensed attorney. - Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience. - Minimum of 5 years' litigation experience in child welfare and deprived court proceedings. - Commitment to interdisciplinary representation. - Experience leading diverse teams and creating inclusive environments. - Experience with public benefits, education, housing, or immigration. - Strong communication skills. - Teamwork and problem-solving skills. Desirable:
- Experience with holistic practice. - Experience mentoring other attorneys. - Passion for deprived law and case strategy.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work with occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping. - Good finger dexterity. - Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds. Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment. Travel:
- Frequent travel throughout the state of Oklahoma. - Occasional travel for conferences and training.
