Law Firm Seeks Experienced Litigation Legal Support Specialist (Full-Time) in Northern Virginia
Overview:
Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Legal Support Specialist to join our team in Northern Virginia. This full-time position offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The ideal candidate will have at least 8-10 years of experience in a litigation law practice, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a strong understanding of litigation laws and court procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level secretarial and administrative support to five attorneys - Assist with preparing and managing litigation cases from beginning to end - Manage document production and management, data mining, and research - Obtain and organize case files on a daily basis - Prepare, organize, and maintain deposition materials and summaries - Assist with trial and mediation preparations - Enter time and assist with document production and editing - Coordinate court appearances, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and client meetings - Schedule travel arrangements and process travel reimbursements - Sort and annotate incoming mail and documents - Compose correspondence, memos, legal documents, and reports - Prepare draft documents such as briefs, complaints, and motions - Coordinate multi-document filings in Federal, Circuit, and State courts - Establish and maintain filing and records, both physical and electronic - Assist with the discovery process, including preparing for depositions and responding to written discovery - Conduct document reviews and perform analytical tasks - Proofread and cite check legal documents - Assist with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks and coordinating witness schedules - Perform other department activities and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred - Minimum 8-10 years of experience as a legal secretary/assistant in a litigation law practice - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, document management, and e-filing - Exceptional computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly - Strong understanding of litigation laws and court procedures - Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
