Litigation Legal Assistant The candidate's duties include but are not limited to: Drafting letters; Filing pleadings, motions, orders, etc. Arranging for service of process; Scheduling depositions; Securing court reporters; Ordering medical records; Assisting with discovery demands and responses; Assisting the litigation lawyers in any way necessary; May also have light overflow work as needed to support the firm (filing, reception fill-in or backup, light office cleaning); Necessary:Typing skills (60wpm or better); Document drafting & preparation; Should have: knowledge of filing documents with county and clerk's office; Knowledge of service of process and affidavits of service; Knowledge of E-filing for all state court & surrogate's court matters; Knowledge of federal court filings.
