Litigation Docket Clerk - Arnold & Porter - New York Office
Job Description:
The Managing Attorney's Office at Arnold & Porter is seeking a Litigation Docket Clerk for their New York office. This position will provide support to the Managing Attorney, Managing Clerk, Assistant Managing Clerk, and the department by coordinating clerical and administrative tasks. The Litigation Docket Clerk will have frequent contact with lawyers, management, and staff in the firm, making a strong client service ethic and professional communication skills essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Record all litigation documents in the docketing database and calculate procedural due dates under the supervision of the Assistant Managing Attorney - Serve and file legal documents in various state and federal courts and agencies, both electronically and physically - Assist with maintaining the litigation docket and preparing documents - Provide administrative support to the Assistant Managing Clerk and the Managing Attorney's Office - Generate and proofread requested communications, documents, forms, and reports for the department - Create and maintain department-wide files, libraries, and databases - Perform data entry to maintain department databases, ensuring accuracy of data by working with firm personnel - Prepare invoices and maintain invoice files - Assist in the production of departmental policy and procedure information
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience - Minimum of one year of experience in a law firm or corporate environment - Proficiency with calendaring or docketing systems such as eDockets, CompuLaw, or MA3000 is a plus - Experience with efiling documents through the Federal CM/ECF system or NYSCEF is a significant plus - Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite - Experience working with databases - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail - Strong project management skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Maintain confidentiality - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and manage time effectively - Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal - Commitment to exceptional client service, both internally and externally - Flexibility to work additional hours as needed
Salary Information:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $46,000 to $60,000. However, the actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, level of education, professional licenses, and location.
