Summary:

- Seeking a motivated and experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join the team at Shumaker, a prestigious law firm in Tampa, FL. - Full-time, on-site position with the opportunity to work on sophisticated and challenging transactional cases for clients across Florida and the nation. - Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of commercial litigation experience, with federal court experience and strong research and communication skills. - Competitive compensation and excellent benefits offered, along with a welcoming and engaging work culture. - Must have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and active Florida bar license.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in sophisticated and challenging transactional work for clients in Florida and nationwide. - Litigate in federal court, handle depositions, court hearings, and arbitration hearings. - Construction litigation or insurance litigation experience is a plus. - Maintain an excellent academic record and strong analytical skills. - Possess outstanding writing, oral advocacy, and research skills. - Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Florida.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school. - Active Florida bar license. - Minimum 2 years of litigation experience. - Strong technological skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and practice management systems, portals and technologies. - Superior research skills, including the use of online services, databases and the Internet. - Superior organizational skills. - Project management skills including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical, problem solving and decision making skills. - Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting position static for up to one-half hour at a time. - Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day. - Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one-half hour per day.
