H2: About the Position:
- Seeking experienced Litigation Associate Attorney for complex civil litigation cases - Opportunity to work on all phases of litigation, including research, discovery, and trial - Assist Senior Attorneys in providing legal advice on municipal law matters - Attend governmental meetings in the evenings - Must possess strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
H2: Essential Duties:
- Represent clients and manage all aspects of civil litigation - Conduct research, interviews, investigations, motions, and trials - Evaluate potential liability and damages in cases - Handle pleadings, discovery, trial, settlement, and appeal - Research and interpret laws and regulations for informed decision-making - Prepare and review legal documents and agreements - Represent clients in arbitration, mediation, and other legal proceedings - Track work and prepare reports for firm's management team
H2: Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school - Six years of civil litigation experience, including trial experience as first or second chair - Valid driver's license - Membership in or ability to obtain membership with the Missouri State Bar
H2: Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of civil and administrative law, judicial procedures, legal research, and municipal operations - Ability to represent clients in various legal proceedings and draft complex legal documents - Strong research skills and ability to interpret and apply legal principles and procedures - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written - Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and handle potentially difficult situations
