Work type: Part Time Hourly Location: Anderson, IN Categories: Other General Description of Position: Coordinate and prepare lab materials for science classes; inventory and maintain equipment and supplies; perform and document lab room status and safety inspections, and communicate with instructors and others as required to assure the safe and effective operation of the region’s science labs. Major Responsibilities: Inventory, organize, prepare, and issue laboratory materials and equipment. Make recommendations on storage of equipment and needed supplies. Test lab equipment, and make minor repairs. Support instructors by maintaining effective communication; addressing concerns, new lab exercises, and requests for customized exercises or schedules. Observe and practice safe laboratory procedures. Perform simple word processing and basic editing of spreadsheets. Be familiar with equipment, supplies and procedures used in Chemical, Life, and Physical Science courses. Be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs. Fulfill other reasonable duties as assigned. Strong Math and Laboratory-based Science education including chemistry. Preferred Qualifications: Technical Certification in laboratory-based sciences or science technologies, Associates degree or higher. At least (1) one year lab assistant experience.
