Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply effective trial skills and techniques to litigate cases to verdict - Conduct legal research and demonstrate strong persuasive writing and presentation skills - Supervise research projects delegated to Associate Counsel and paralegals - Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents - Attend court events and appointments independently - Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and business partners - Utilize support staff and technology effectively - Travel as required for business needs - Provide advice and training to Claim partners and clients
What is Our Ideal Candidate?
- 3 years of prior litigation practice or legal experience - Exposure to insurance litigation is desirable - Track record of trial skills and techniques - Ability to clearly and succinctly articulate position - Analytical skills with minimal supervision - Commitment to delivering high-quality legal work - Collaborative and demonstrates legal acumen - Personal commitment to professional development - Strong research and negotiation skills - Decision-making and problem-solving abilities - Sense of urgency and responsiveness
Must-Haves:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school - Active license in good standing to practice law in required state(s) - Minimum of one year of litigation practice or legal experience - Valid driver's license (depending on location)
