Job Description
Legal Secretary The candidate will draft, transcribe, proofread, format, and finalize legal documents, letters, summons, court papers, etc. Will file and serve pleadings, discovery and other legal documents in a variety of state and federal courts according to state and federal local rules. Assist attorneys by reading, researching, reviewing, verifying and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; schedule client meetings, court reporters, expert witnesses, etc. Maintain attorneys’ calendars by planning and scheduling depositions, client interviews, teleconferences; schedule and docket court appearances, discovery, case management, and trial dates, etc. Must have 3-5 years of current legal, secretarial experience and Some litigation experience. Should have advanced knowledge of and experience with MS Word and Outlook. Exceptional writing, proofreading, technology, and administrative skills are required. A 4-year degree is preferred. Understanding or prior experience with real property law is a plus.
