Law Firm Seeking Legal Researcher for Full-Time Position in Corporate GC Office

Job Summary: The law firm is seeking a highly skilled Legal Researcher to join our Corporate GC Office in Goose Creek, SC. This is a full-time position that requires the individual to be physically present in the office. The Legal Researcher will be responsible for reviewing title work and preparing title binders/commitments for real estate closings. The ideal candidate will have experience in title examination and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities: • Review title work and prepare title binders/commitments for Real Estate closings. • Ensure the validity of titles on properties. • Examine all documentation, including mortgages, liens, contracts, etc. to verify ownership or restrictions. • Conduct extensive research on title evidence. • Obtain property descriptions and names of involved parties. • Examine individual titles for any restrictions. • Prepare reports detailing any title obstructions. • Consult with pre-closer to provide title-related information. • Enter data into SoftPro Select to create title binder/commitment and other required documents for lenders. • Flexibility to take on additional duties as assigned by the firm.
Qualifications: • 1 year of experience as a title examiner (preferred) • 1 year of experience in title work (preferred) • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Service-oriented mindset • Effective time management skills • Active listening abilities • Problem-solving skills • Experience with SoftPro Select (preferred)
