Job Title: Legal Practice Assistant Location: Washington, DC Salary: $50,000-$85,000 (actual rate determined based on qualifications and experience)
Job Description:
- Receive assignments from lawyers and perform tasks in a timely manner - Input attorney time into the Web Time time-entry program - Work with the Billing department to review client billing and resolve any issues - Prepare attorney expense reimbursements and process client-related vendor invoices - Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including coordinating messenger services - Coordinate meetings and maintain attorney calendars and contacts - Perform document conversions and handle telephone calls - Coordinate prints, scans, and duplicating projects - Assist with travel arrangements - Maintain client files and assist with the New Matter Intake process - Perform other administrative duties and support other assistants as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- E-Filing experience in both Federal and State Court (for LA and San Francisco offices) - Ability to assist with preparing presentation materials - Proficiency in preparing legal documents from various sources - General understanding of the litigation process or transaction practice - Flexible and able to work overtime when necessary

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a customer service focus - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Great client service skills - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to follow directions and manage competing priorities - Foresight to anticipate lawyers' needs
Requirements:
- Proficient in Windows 7 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - Flexibility to adjust hours and work overtime as needed - LTC4 or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification preferred - College degree or equivalent work experience preferred
