Some of the essential duties and responsibilities of the Legal Nurse position include:
- Assisting in the implementation of clinical models and systems for our clients - Providing medical education and advice to team members and clients - Monitoring and maintaining quality standards of treatment guidelines - Developing and conducting training programs for new employees - Conducting case audits and analyzing trends and patterns - Educating new employees on various medical knowledge areas - Conducting literature reviews and research related to cases - Assisting clients and teams with understanding case-related injuries and treatment - Writing medical publications and training materials - Assessing department needs and providing medical knowledge training - Communicating with clients and clarifying treatment procedures - Providing compassionate support and assistance to clients when needed - Assisting with the development of the firm's externship program for local medical programs - Reviewing medical and billing records throughout the treatment phase of cases
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Current unrestricted R.N. license - Bachelor's Degree in nursing or other related field - 2 or more years of medical experience preferred, particularly in Primary Care, Emergency Room/Urgent Care, Orthopedic or Neurology - Teaching ability and desire to share information with others - Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and phone) - Advanced research skills - Ability to work well as part of a team - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Ability to handle confidential information with discretion - Strong organizational and time management skills - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines - Previous law firm experience is a plus
Education requirements for this role include state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), as well as an Associate degree (Bachelor's degree preferred). Medical records review experience is also desired.
This position will require working in an office environment during normal business hours, with the possibility of overtime to meet work demands.
