The Law Firm is seeking a Legal Nurse Consultant to join their team in Brunswick, GA. The ideal candidate will have a RN degree and at least 1 year of experience in a clinical setting. This position is a hybrid role, requiring both medical expertise and legal support for attorneys in case management. Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with all medical aspects of litigation, including case preparation, management, and execution - Obtain, review, analyze, and summarize medical records and other relevant documents - Identify additional sources for obtaining medical records - Organize, tabulate, and index medical records - Research and integrate relevant medical and nursing literature - Select and organize literature for use at trial - Identify, locate, interview, and evaluate potential expert witnesses - Schedule meetings and depositions - Perform clerical duties such as typing and filing - Enter billable time into computer on a daily basis - Meet a minimum billing requirement of 140 hours per month - Perform non-billable functions, such as participating in strategic committees and assisting with seminar development - Ensure all functions are performed in accordance with client guidelines - Remain flexible and open to other duties as directed by the management team
Requirements:
- RN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing - At least 1 year of work experience in a clinical setting - Knowledge of legal principles and practices - Organizational, prioritization, and attention to detail skills - Impeccable integrity in confidential matters - Interpersonal skills for effective communication with attorneys, staff, and clients - Typing speed of 45 wpm and proficiency with computers and office equipment - Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week when necessary - Ability to sit, bend, stoop, use a computer keyboard, and lift up to 50 lbs. - Valid driver's license for potential travel to offsite locations
