Overview:
- Seeking a Legal Nurse Paralegal with 3-5 years of law firm experience to join our Medical Malpractice division in the Hollywood, FL office of Conroy Simberg. - Ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical record review, case analysis, and assisting attorneys in defending medical malpractice, personal injury, and other healthcare-related liability claims. - This is a temporary position that will last approximately 3 months. - Must be located in Florida. - Salary will be based on experience. - The firm is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and creating an inclusive and respectful work environment for all employees. - The candidate must have a strong understanding of the legal system and medical terminology. - Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. - Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex medical records. - Knowledge of Florida laws and regulations related to medical malpractice cases. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal software programs. - Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Paralegal Studies preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to identify relevant information for legal cases. - Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions. - Conduct medical research and prepare medical summaries and chronologies. - Communicate with healthcare providers and experts to obtain necessary information. - Organize and maintain case files and documents. - Prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. - Attend client meetings and assist with client intake. - Draft correspondence and maintain communication with clients. - Coordinate with other departments and team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks. - Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of law firm experience, preferably in medical malpractice. - Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of the legal system. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. - Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex medical records. - Knowledge of Florida laws and regulations related to medical malpractice cases. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal software programs. - Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Paralegal Studies preferred.
