Job Title: Legal Assistant - Litigation Support Salary: $19.00-$20.00 per hour Experience: Previous administrative experience in a law firm or other financial or banking institution preferred

Introduction

We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team and provide litigation support at our Troy, MI office.
- Analyzing and processing data to ensure compliance with client and firm expectations - Providing high-level legal administrative and office management support to the Office Manager and attorneys - Utilizing internal software to update and document account status - Preparing documentation for attorney review - Filing pleadings with state-specific court filing systems - Answering incoming calls and communicating effectively with team members and outside parties - Complying with standard operating procedures set forth by the office - Maintaining quality and quantity of work - Performing other assigned duties
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Strong organizational and time management skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Attention to detail and a professional attitude - Knowledge of civil litigation procedures, rules of evidence, and/or e-filing process preferred - Previous administrative experience in a law firm or financial institution preferred - Debt collection and/or litigation experience a plus
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to lift at least five pounds - Ability to sit for extended periods of time - Mobility for bending and moving as needed - Ability to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence - Ability to communicate effectively in a common language, both verbally and in writing - Ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device - Ability to work a flexible 40-hour schedule
