We are looking for an articulate professional to work as a Legal Assistant to help with our growing business. Our Legal Assistant will collaborate with attorneys/paralegals in the mass tort process, interview clients, develop client case specific proof required to sustain a claim, assist clients with understanding the litigation and claims resolution process, relay the advice and counsel of the attorneys to clients, and prepare and file complaints on behalf of clients.
**Job Responsibilities:**
- Extensive interaction with clients over the telephone and client intake phone calls - Prepare correspondence and legal documents - Organize case files and address any issues that may arise with particular cases - Answer clients' questions and concerns - Work with attorneys on case status updates - Collect case evidence and documentation - Communicate with third party vendors - Keep clients informed by relaying case developments - Maintain case management information in law database - Move cases forward by maintaining client files, ordering and reviewing medical records and bills - Process intake documents and follow up with clients on missing items - Calendar court deadlines and meet strict deadlines - Perform other duties as assigned
**Qualifications & Requirements:**
- Two years of experience working in an office setting - Law firm or medical industry experience preferred - High school diploma required - Associate's degree or paralegal certificate preferred - Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English - Scheduled work hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday - Able to work overtime if needed
**Salary & Benefits:**
Salary starting from $22-24/hr with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K matching plus quarterly performance based bonuses.
