Job Description:
Provide legal assistant support to three attorneys in the area of estate planning, probates, and trusts. Work with minimal supervision and according to established firm policies and procedures. Perform a variety of legal assistant and clerical duties for assigned attorneys. Utilize forms to draft estate planning documents, pleadings, deeds, correspondence, and other items as requested. Proofread documents for content and accuracy. Schedule meetings and maintain attorney calendars and deadline reminder systems. Process incoming mail and deliveries; scan and photocopy projects; maintain client files; and filing. Meet with clients to receive and/or assist with the signing of documents as requested by attorneys. Maintain appropriate appearance and demeanor, and observe confidentiality of attorney-client relationship. Maintain positive relationships with clients, attorneys, and staff. Never offer legal advice.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year law firm experience as an estate planning legal assistant. Ability to utilize forms to draft estate planning documents, pleadings, deeds, correspondence, and other items as requested. Proofread for content and accuracy. Schedule meetings; time entry; process incoming mail and deliveries; scan and photocopy projects; maintain client files; filing. Maintain attorney calendars and deadline reminder systems. As requested by attorneys, meet with clients to receive and/or assist with the signing of documents; maintain appropriate appearance and demeanor; maintain positive relationships with clients, attorneys, and staff; observe confidentiality of attorney-client relationship and all matters relating to the firm and its attorneys and staff; never offer legal advice.
