The ideal candidate will have strong written and interpersonal skills, the ability to rapidly comprehend complex matters and develop strategy accordingly, and significant organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications
Admission to Connecticut State courts is preferred, but we will consider applications from recent graduates and law students from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials Knowledge in Probate administration Proficiency in using WestLaw Proficiency with technology, and ability to maintain, update and modify documents needed during proceedings
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in developing individual matters that are assigned to them from beginning to end in order to achieve a successful result for the client(s) Observe/participate in client meetings and strategy sessions Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, motion hearings and trials Conduct legal research Draft motions and briefs
Work Hours
The working hours generally fall in the range of twenty to twenty-five hours per week. However, law clerks may need to work longer hours as the needs of a case are assessed to meet deadlines, particularly in the event of trial.
Salary
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
