Law Firm Seeking Experienced Labor & Employment Attorney for Sacramento Office
Opportunity for experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to join the Sacramento office of a premier public agency law firm. This position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience practicing as an attorney, with a strong background in public agency law. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to the State Bar of California in good standing. Administrative hearing experience is a plus.
Responsibilities: - Provide counsel to public school districts and other public agencies throughout California on various labor and employment matters - Draft employment contracts and handle collective bargaining, contract grievances, and discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct issues - Advise on layoffs, discipline, and dismissals - Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide legal analysis - Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues - Manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school - Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing - 7 years of experience in employment matters, preferably in education law, public agency law, or related areas - Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities - Passion for advocating for educational institutions and public agencies
Salary: Competitive salary in the range of $140,000 - $225,000 per year, based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
