We are currently seeking a Knowledge Lawyer for our Disputes practice in multiple locations across the United States, including Houston, Texas, Chicago, Illinois, Dallas, Texas, Austin, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
As a Knowledge Lawyer in the Disputes practice, you will play a critical role in managing the development of and access to core practice content for practitioners in the assigned area of law. You will work closely with the lawyers in the Disputes practice to identify attorney knowledge management needs and improve their access to substantive resources, technological solutions, and other workflow tools.
The Knowledge Lawyer will also work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including other Knowledge Lawyers, Research Services, Innovation, Technology, Talent Development, and Marketing and Business Development, to enhance, develop, and implement practice group KM with a focus on increasing technology-enabled practice efficiency and optimizing client service delivery.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and access to core practice content for the Disputes practice - Collaborate with lawyers to identify attorney knowledge management needs and improve access to resources and tools - Monitor and update KM systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance with KM taxonomies - Evaluate and update workflows to enhance efficiency and develop practice-specific processes - Facilitate the sharing of know-how and expertise with attorneys through regular meetings and curated practice sites - Work with the innovation team to assess and address knowledge needs of the practice group and align with business goals - Promote the use of internal databases and search engines and devise systems for know-how collection - Provide ongoing training on KM tools and resources - Evaluate new and innovative KM and research tools and participate in technology pilots with the Innovation team - Stay current on legal and market developments and share with practitioners through internal communications and training sessions - Contribute to internal and external publications, presentations, and training - Provide knowledge support for business development initiatives, including pitches and RFPs
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree and admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction in the United States - 5 years of relevant practice experience in mid-to-large law firms - Strategic focus and understanding of firm goals, services, culture, and strategy - Advanced proficiency in researching and drafting legal documents - Strong writing abilities and communication skills - Experience designing and delivering successful training programs - Excellent organizational and project management skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment - Team player with high energy and creativity - Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases - Familiarity with document management and other KM software - Occasional travel may be required
