Judicial Specialist 2 #00039315-23100: Full-Time Position in Santa Fe, NM
Overview: The First Judicial District Court is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Judicial Specialist 2 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This full-time, classified position will involve preparing and processing court documents, performing judicial procedures, and working with the court case management system. The successful applicant will also be responsible for providing customer service to pro se litigants, handling cash transactions, and maintaining court records. The position may require a criminal background check for the finalist(s).
Salary Information: The target pay range for this position is $18.824 - $23.530 per hour or $39,153.92 - $48,942.40 annual salary.
Job Title: Judicial Specialist 2
Experience: Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in court case processing, legal secretarial work, advanced customer service, data processing, or banking/financial experience.
Job Duties: ● Prepare and process court documents using the case management system ● Provide customer service information to pro se litigants ● Handle cash transactions following court's cash handling procedures ● Process, maintain, and distribute documents and case materials ● Use electronic filing to review incoming filings and ensure accuracy ● Assist with orders of protection and bond payments ● Reconcile billing and invoices from contracted vendors for Specialty Court Programs ● Prepare, proofread, edit, and mail out documents such as notices and final orders ● Execute on case hearings and maintain court calendars and schedules ● Serve as a court monitor and perform clerical and technical duties ● Manage jury trial calendar and advise internal staff of jury procedures ● Act as a liaison between court personnel, litigants, and attorneys ● Other duties as assigned
Competencies/Qualifications: ● Knowledge of legal terminology and phrases ● Basic knowledge of jury service and filing methods ● Familiarity with case processing and research methodology ● Understanding of court fee accounting practices and court monitoring procedures ● Knowledge of the Court Clerk's Procedures Manual and Code of Ethics ● Knowledge of the court's and state's Language Access Policies ● Familiarity with the general organizational structure of the judiciary
Work Environment and Physical Demands: The work is performed in an office or court setting, and may require a valid driver's license and travel. The work schedule may include overtime, and the employee must regularly interact with co-workers, clients, the public, judges, and justices.

Qualifications: ● Education: High school diploma or GED ● Experience: 2 years of experience in court case processing, legal secretarial work, advanced customer service, data processing, or banking/financial experience ● Typing Certification: A typing certification from the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions or similar may be required ● Certification: May be required to obtain and maintain certification for the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database and/or the NM Court Monitor Certification Examination
