Davey Resource Group, Inc. "DRG" has opportunities as an Inventory Arborist Technician. DRG is a leader in urban forestry, environmental, and utility consulting throughout the US and Canada. Position Description: The Inventory Arborist Technician will provide our government, commercial and not for profit clients with services and solutions needed to efficiently and effectively manage trees and urban forests. Inventory arborist skill set will require GIS/GPS mapping, tree identification, assessment, and risk mitigation. This position will also provide an opportunity to gain field experience with ecological restoration projects including wetland, stream/riparian, and upland habitats. Position Requirements: Inventory arborist projects require the ability to read, follow, and create maps while inspecting trees. This work will occur along city streets, parks, cemeteries, golf courses, education facilities, utility corridors, private residences, woodlots, wetlands, etc. Specific task training is provided. Urban Forestry and ecological restoration projects require the ability to work outdoors in varying weather while traversing rough terrain and carrying equipment. Conducting work independently with excellent communication skills is required. Education and Qualifications: ● Obtain an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist Certification within one year of hire. ● Four year degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Environmental Science, Plant Biology or other related discipline or equivalent experience in a similar position is desired. ● Current Driver's License and Driving Record in good standing. ● Working knowledge of computers.
