H1: Join Progressive as an Insurance Defense Attorney - Bodily Injury H2: Represent Progressive Insureds and/or Companies in Litigation Cases
As an Insurance Defense Attorney within our bodily injury (BI) unit, you will have the opportunity to join Progressive, the 2024 Best Employer for Diversity according to Forbes. In this role, you will be a part of our motor vehicle insurance defense litigation team, providing legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or to the Progressive Insurance Companies in all aspects of litigation. This includes handling cases from beginning to end, preparing legal pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs, as well as negotiating settlements. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely reports on litigation and use appropriate defenses to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or companies in motor vehicle insurance defense litigation cases Handle cases from beginning to end, including preparing legal pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel Work closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely reports on litigation Analyze written discovery, depositions, medical records, and assess the value of claims to determine risk exposure
Must-have Qualifications:
Juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM) Admitted to practice law in New Jersey
Compensation:
$114,030 - $171,600/year Gainshare bonus up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
