SUMMARY Bering Straits Information Technology, a subsidiary of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is currently seeking a qualified Instructional Designer/Trainer in Suitland, MD. Training Developers will be responsible for developing training for software systems, operation procedures, training materials, and facilitating training dry-runs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES All phases of the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) All phases of the Successive Approximation Model (SAM) Developing, planning, organizing, and designing instructional materials including web-based and classroom training to support the Decennial Census training programs Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information about goals and objectives to be met for the Decennial training programs Developing training objectives and training plans Using e-Learning software and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Advanced PowerPoint, etc.) Experience creating Multi-media to support learning (e.g., visual aids for face-to-face, various multimedia for e-learning and online Developing storyboards for e-Learning and Classroom training Developing training, including developing skill/proficiency checks; performance assessments, designing and incorporating relevant practice exercises, selecting appropriate approaches for delivering training; Developing classroom training guides, job aids and training aids Developing necessary supportive training aids, such as manuals, user guides, and instructional materials for decennial training programs Determining the appropriate sequence of instructional activities Conducting training Dry-Runs Determining the best delivery method for training Developing training by adhering to adult learning and multimedia principles Using standard office software packages (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, etc) QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION Required (Minimum) Qualifications Bachelor’s in Education, Multimedia, Training, or appropriate related discipline Three (3) years’ experience in relevant experience developing in Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Advanced PowerPoint. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong analytical, technical, and problem solving skills Experience with Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate Software Experience in designing, developing, and implementing e-Learning courses Experience in curriculum design and development, and instructional design Experience with adult learning theories Proven ability to meet and manage aggressive timelines Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within organization Ability to work well with others in a team environment and also able to function independently Ability to mulit-task and meet established deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously and work in a high pressure production environment Ability to work in high pressure production environment Preferred Certified in: Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Learning and Performance, Educational Technology. Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities. ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base.
