Serves as a consultant, educator, and facilitator for the development of educational resources. Acts as a strategic partner working with departments to create instructional sound content that meets their academic and business objectives. Position may work on-site or from a remote location. If working remotely, may be asked to travel to Roanoke for meetings, on occasion. Remote work would begin after an initial training period.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Master's degree preferred in instructional design or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
Experience: Five years of instructional design experience required, with demonstrated experience in designing and delivering online and instructor-led classes. Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. Experience in video production and editing, Cornerstone on Demand and In Design preferred. Experience in various design software such as Captivate and Storyline.
Licenses/Certifications: None required. Relevant training certification preferred, such as C.P.L.P. Valid Virginia drivers' license and dependable transportation.
Other: Must possess excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills, including presentation skills. Demonstrated analytical thinking and interpersonal skills. Must work well in a team environment. Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to work on multiple tasks/projects while meeting deadlines and being flexible in an environment of changing priorities. All applicants selected for an interview will be required to submit a portfolio of leadership course materials they have developed themselves. As part of the interviewing process, applicants will be asked to give a brief presentation.
