Job Description
Work type: Full Time Hourly Location: Richmond, IN Categories: Office/Clerical, Student Affairs/Student Services General Description of Position: The Information Center Receptionist greets all visitors in-person at the Express Enrollment Center desk and enters them into queuing system to be seen by the appropriate member of the Student Affairs team. This position also answers phone calls and conducts other general clerical assignments. Major Responsibilities: Provide general information about admissions, registration, financial aid, orientation, assessment, and business support Assist with all special projects and mailings, as well as appointment scheduling, data entry, telephone and clerical assistance for the various departments in Student Affairs Greet visitors and students, clarify and answer general questions, and/or enter student into queuing system to be seen by a staff member Direct guests to appropriate personnel and/or department Conduct campus tours Collect and date-stamp student forms for back office/processing support Function effectively in a team environment. Maintain working knowledge of emergency/safety procedures as provided by supervisor. Be knowledgeable of the locations of the electronic and hard copy of procedures when applicable in order to deliver information as needed to customers. Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required. Associate degree or equivalent preferred. Keyboarding skills. Ability to operate word processing/ computer equipment. Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications Ability to operate copier and other office related equipment. Willingness and ability to provide Tier 1 level student support through use of various software applications (queuing, student, financial). Strong communication and organizational skills Pleasant disposition, good attitude, and ability to get along with others. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate evidence of ability to successfully work in a team environment.
