Overview:
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving newcomers, is seeking an Immigration Legal Assistant to assist their Immigration Legal Services program staff in providing high-quality legal services to immigrants and refugees. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

They are committed to upholding a legacy of compassion and grace for people in crisis, and walk alongside individuals, families, and children as they begin their new lives in the United States. They offer a range of services, including refugee resettlement, welcome and respite services for asylum seekers, economic empowerment and employment, and family unification for unaccompanied children.
Responsibilities:
* Provide clients with information on immigration benefits and assist in completing applications * Work with interpreters and translation services to ensure effective communication with clients * Assist attorneys in drafting applications and following up with federal agencies * Process correspondence from USCIS and DOS and follow up with relevant parties * Respond to client inquiries and make appropriate referrals to other service providers * Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and assist in completing reports * Represent **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** with clients and partners by receiving and returning calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and conducting outreach for legal services * Pursue Department of Justice accreditation by completing required training * Maintain knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and trends in immigration law * Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical practices and obligations
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience * Two years of experience in a legal or similar setting preferred * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Proficiency in Spanish, Pashto, or Dari strongly preferred * Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines * Cultural competence and experience working with diverse backgrounds * Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion * Understanding of legal practice and pro bono culture a plus * Computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite * Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing environments * Willingness to travel
