As an Immigration Assistant at BAL, you will be responsible for supporting attorneys and case managers in the preparation, filing, and monitoring of various immigration and law matters. Key Responsibilities:
Support attorneys and case managers through email and phone communications. Guide assignees on proprietary systems and case processing. Develop an understanding of client communication procedures and requirements. Input client services and send to Accounting for processing. Learn procedures and document requirements for various case types. Process basic corporate immigration cases. Proactively escalate concerns to the appropriate BAL team member. Utilize templates and prepared materials for document preparation. Manage the status of filed applications and petitions. Utilize document and data management systems to record and monitor all aspects of client casework. Prepare internal caseload reports for management. Share process flow with assignees. Conduct research to obtain necessary information. Initiate contact with government agencies to gather information. Alert senior paralegals and attorneys of potential process delays or problems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or 2 years of related business experience required. Superb organizational skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written. General computer knowledge and typing skills. Professional and respectful attitude towards coworkers. Ability to receive and analyze information. Ability to share information with team members. MS Office, Scan/Copy; ability to learn VB and Cobalt.
Working Conditions:
Able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Able to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach on a daily basis. Able to perform general office administrative activities. Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally. Must be able to prioritize and complete testing for multiple applications with overlapping schedules. Requires creativity and flexibility. May exceed 40 hours per week. Occasional travel within the region and to other locations as required.
