The Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania (LASP) is seeking Housing Stability Attorneys to join their team and provide safe, stable, and secure housing for individuals with low incomes in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. These are temporary, full-time positions through at least September 30, 2025, with the potential for continued employment. The attorneys will be placed in one of five LASP offices: Bristol, Norristown, Pottstown, West Chester, or Chester city.
The Housing Stability Attorneys will focus on case goals set by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) to ensure safe, stable, and secure housing for low-income individuals. This includes handling landlord-tenant cases in both private and subsidized/public housing, as well as other related practice areas such as utility law, homeownership, and mobile home ownership rights. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in external professional and community organizations to further their casework and contribute to LASP's overall goals.
To qualify for this position, applicants must have a license to practice law in Pennsylvania or be eligible for admission. At least two years of experience as a lawyer is preferred, along with proficiency in word processing, case management software, and online legal research tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to public interest law and serving low-income individuals and vulnerable populations, as well as excellent written and oral advocacy and organizational skills.
LASP offers a competitive salary starting at $58,000, with the potential for higher compensation based on experience.
