As a Housing Corporate Governance Senior Lawyer at our law firm, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients in the third sector, primarily in the social housing sector. You will play a crucial role in advising our clients on their governance arrangements, compliance with regulations, and corporate structures. With a focus on not-for-profit organizations, you will also have the opportunity to work on major projects such as mergers, joint ventures, and collaborations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver strategic governance and corporate structuring advice to clients - Act as a trusted advisor and member of clients' teams - Assist in the management and development of the department - Maintain high standards of honesty, confidentiality, and integrity - Achieve monthly and annual targets for time recording, billing, and more - Keep up to date with the law and best practices - Demonstrate strong self-management and leadership skills - Collaborate with colleagues to meet client needs and priorities - Develop business for the firm through briefings, newsletters, and social media - Attend conferences and networking events - Supervise and develop less experienced staff - Deliver projects in your own name and potentially line manage colleagues
Candidate Requirements:
- Detailed knowledge and experience of housing governance (preferable but not obligatory) - Strong experience in corporate governance and company law - Interest in clients' perspectives and businesses - Personable and professional demeanor - Strong communication skills - Exemplary written work and drafting skills - Experience in public speaking and delivering training - Good personal organization and time management skills - Project and client management skills - Ability to build trust and confidence with peers and clients - Good leadership skills
