Law Firm Seeking Administrative Support for Government Relations Practice Group - Augusta, ME
Position Overview:
The law firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to provide administrative support for our Government Relations Practice Group in our Augusta office. This position will also have the opportunity to work in our Portland office on Mondays and Fridays. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of administrative support experience and a bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience in a legislative advocacy workplace or within legislative or regulatory agencies is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track legislative documents and maintain an updated legislative database - Monitor Secretary of State Rulemaking Notices and flag relevant information for clients - Attend public hearings and work sessions and take detailed notes as needed - Deliver documents to lobbyists at the State House when necessary - Assist with time entry and billing for attorneys - Prepare legislative testimony and regulatory comments, and assemble materials - Stay up-to-date on lobby disclosure reporting procedures and processes - Manage calendars for government relations professionals and make travel arrangements - Renew annual attorney memberships and lobbyist State House passes - Oversee overall administration of the Augusta office, including communication with building management and purchasing office supplies - Process library materials
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of administrative support experience - Bachelor's degree preferred - Experience in a legislative advocacy workplace or within legislative or regulatory agencies is a plus - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Access database skills are a plus
