Global Trade Compliance Director & Counsel - Remote Hybrid Position:
Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Global Trade Compliance Director & Counsel to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our trade compliance program and driving global trade initiatives to ensure adherence to international trade laws and regulations. This is a remote hybrid position that can be located in St. Louis Park, MN; Madison, WI; Washington DC; or Cleveland, OH. Responsibilities:
- Lead the trade compliance program and drive global trade initiatives - Ensure adherence to international trade laws and regulations - Oversee import/export compliance and mitigate regulatory risks - Collaborate with operational leadership to develop required processes for compliance with regulatory changes - Assess impact of global import and export control laws and regulations on **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***'s business - Develop and improve global trade compliance program and procedures - Provide trade compliance training programs and identify and prioritize high-risk practices - Develop a communication strategy for the global trade compliance program - Conduct internal investigations and handle responses and resolutions to compliance issues and government inquiries - Monitor the global regulatory environment and develop a strategy for responding to new or amended litigation - Manage a team of global compliance professionals and support their professional development
Qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one bar required - 10 years of experience in international trade, including knowledge of handling imports and exports in accordance with foreign government regulations - 6 years of experience leading teams in a global organization - Knowledge of restricted party and third-party screening tools - Expert knowledge of global trade laws and regulations, including those administered by CBP, BIS, OFAC, DDTC, USTR, or similar global regulatory agencies - Strong working knowledge of commercial practices, including accounting, finance, sales, and marketing - Experience working with a global manufacturing company preferred - Government relations experience focused on trade agencies and committees highly desirable
Compensation:
- Pay scale based on expected range of base pay for the position and employee's work location - Pay will be based on a combination of factors, including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance - Where minimum wage requirements exist, pay will comply - Compensation range: $175,000 - $250,000 (depending on position offered) - Eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual or long-term incentives
