We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Liability Defense Attorney with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join our dynamic legal team in California. In this role, you will handle a diverse caseload of general liability defense matters and provide high-quality legal representation to our clients.
Key Responsibilities: - Case Management: Handle a diverse caseload of general liability defense matters, including premises liability, personal injury, property damage, and other related claims. - Litigation: Represent clients in all phases of litigation, from initial pleadings and discovery to trial and appeal, if necessary. - Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, providing strategic legal advice and keeping them informed about the progress and status of their cases. - Legal Research and Writing: Conduct thorough legal research, draft motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents. - Court Appearances: Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as necessary. - Settlement Negotiations: Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes to achieve favorable outcomes for clients. - Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and exceptional client service.
Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. - Active membership in the California State Bar. - Minimum 4 years of experience in general liability defense litigation. - Strong knowledge of California state and federal court procedures. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence in legal work.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with insurance defense is highly desirable. - Trial experience is a plus. - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
