Salary: Unpaid, but GLJ will support interns to seek school funding for their fellowship and will work with interns who do not have access to outside funding to obtain academic credit for their work. GLJ also participates in the paid Peggy Browning Fellowship program.
Job Title: Legal Intern
Experience: JD students or enrolled in a joint JD program
Location: Washington DC office, in-person internship
Duration: Monday, June 2 to Friday, August 8, 2025
Responsibilities:
- Work on ongoing GLJ campaigns and urgent case response under the direct supervision of GLJ attorneys and campaign staff - Draft factual and legal memoranda, research reports, and external communications - Attend educational sessions on movement lawyering and ongoing work at the organization - Possible opportunities to work on cases involving advocacy with international organizations and the US Government
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of labor, employment, or human rights law - Proficiency in language(s) other than English is beneficial
