JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
HAS SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY FOR DINING SERVICE LEADS AND SERVICE EMPLOYEES. ASSISTS WITH NEW-EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION.COMMUNICATES REGULARLY WITH MANAGEMENT, ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONS PERSONNEL AS WELL AS VENDORS, COMMUNITY CITIZENS AND OTHER CUSTOMERS. ACTIVELY PARTICIPATES AT DEPARTMENTAL STAFF MEETINGS AND COMMUNICATES BUSINESS MATTERS WITH MANAGEMENT STAFF OR OTHER KEY STAKEHOLDERS AS APPROPRIATE.ACCESS AND EXPOSURE TO CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION IN PERFORMANCE OF THE JOB.POSITION HAS DISCRETION IN THE OVERALL DAY-TO-DAY MANAGEMENT OF DINING & NUTRITION SERVICES AS PRESCRIBED BY ESTABLISHED CARILION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND STANDARDS OF SUPERVISORY PRACTICE. MAY BE ASKED TO ASSIST IN FORMULATING OR REVISING CARILION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. COMPLIANCE WITH AHA, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES, OSHA, ALM, JCAHO AND CARILION PERFORMANCE STANDARDS REQUIRED AS NECESSARY.
RANGE FROM 6AM TO 1030PM AND EVERY OTHER WEEKEND

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Associates degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Experience: Four to five years experience in food production system with increased and/or diversified responsibility including two years in a supervisory or lead role within healthcare dining services.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certified Dietary Manager preferred. SERV-Safe Certification or equivalent certification from the Virginia Health Department is required; or ability to obtain certification within year one in this position.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must have good public relations skills with customers, employees and other key stakeholders including senior leadership. Must be capable of communicating verbal and written orders, directions, supervisory guidance and technical assistance as needed to a diverse workforce. General interest in the development of subordinates to meet institution and patient care needs.
