Responsibilities of the Family Law Paralegal Position
As a paralegal at our law firm, you will be responsible for coordinating law office activity, conducting legal research, and assisting lawyers in preparing for trial. Your day-to-day tasks may include drafting subpoenas, organizing exhibits, conducting client interviews, and preparing legal documents such as complaints and briefs. Additionally, you will be responsible for administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining an organized filing system.
Qualifications and Requirements for the Family Law Paralegal Position
To be considered for this position, you must have at least 4 years of experience in family law and be an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA). Prior work or studies in criminal justice is preferred. We are looking for candidates who are able to represent both the plaintiff and defendant sides of a case, and possess excellent negotiation and communication skills. A paralegal certificate or advanced paralegal education is also preferred.
