Position Description:
- Washington-based Family Law Attorney position at Modern Family Law - Work on diverse family law cases including divorce, custody, support, and property division matters - Represent clients in court and make all necessary in-court appearances - Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs - Work with team members to ensure efficient and effective case handling - Attend mediation and settlement conferences to negotiate favorable outcomes for clients - Stay up to date with legal developments and trends in family law - Work from home with occasional in-person attendance for court appearances and client meetings
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in family law - Active admission to the Washington State Bar and in good standing - Strong writing and verbal communication skills - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - Client-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional experiences - Experience practicing in Pierce, King, Snohomish, Thurston, Island, and Skagit counties preferred
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel - Proven ability to handle a variety of family law matters - Demonstrated ability to balance multiple cases simultaneously - Flexibility to respond to changing client needs and legal deadlines - High attention to detail and proactive approach to resolving client issues - Ability to work under pressure and handle tight court schedules - Strong negotiation and mediation skills - Willingness to work evenings or weekends when necessary
