Paralegal Faculty Position at Reputed Firm - Full-time 12 Month
Salary: $55,321.07 per year

This is a full-time 12-month tenure track position with a competitive salary based on the highest degree earned and years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to student engagement, success, and instructional excellence. As a member of the faculty, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses within the Paralegal Department, including both classroom and online settings. This is not a remote position.
Job Summary
The Paralegal Faculty member will be responsible for instructing and supervising a diverse population of students, managing the Co-Op internship program, and maintaining a commitment to student success and instructional excellence. The successful candidate will also possess effective communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods and technology to facilitate learning. Other duties include advising students, assessing student performance, and participating in professional development activities.
Essential Duties
- Instruct and supervise a diverse population of students in classroom and online settings. - Manage the Co-Op internship program, including networking with local law firms and agencies, assigning students to available openings, and providing curriculum and lectures to prepare graduates for the workforce. - Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, success, and instructional excellence. - Prepare and utilize course syllabi and assessments. - Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods and technology. - Assist in the recruitment and retention of students. - Advise students and refer them to appropriate resources. - Assess students' performance and provide feedback in a timely manner. - Engage students through office hours and electronic communication. - Assist in the development and distribution of assessments. - Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. - Submit timely reports and forms and provide recommendations for curriculum and department operations. - Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through professional development activities. - Adhere to college policies and procedures. - Attend institutional meetings as required. - Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's or higher degree in Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or a JD as appropriate to specific courses. - 3 years of non-teaching work experience as a paralegal or attorney. - Strong legal experience across multiple areas of law. - Proficient in legal research and writing. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and intermediate computer skills. - Familiarity with Blackboard course management system preferred. - Knowledge and experience with interactive teaching methods and online instruction.
