As an experienced attorney, you will join the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** (MOPD) as an Assistant Public Defender in the Baltimore region. You will be responsible for representing clients in all stages of their criminal cases, from bail hearings to trial and post-trial hearings. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $93,424.00 - $135,450.00 per year. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual who is committed to providing exceptional representation to their clients and upholding justice and fairness in the criminal legal system.

Key Responsibilities: - Represent clients in all stages of their criminal cases - Conduct legal research and analysis - Draft and prepare legal documents - Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and colleagues - Negotiate with prosecutors and judges - Manage a full caseload - Seek professional development opportunities
Requirements: - Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law - Experience as a practicing attorney - Admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland - Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills - Dedication to addressing systemic racism and prejudice in the criminal legal system - Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse, team-oriented environment - Criminal jury trial experience required
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with felony cases - Active membership in good standing in the Maryland Bar or Bar of another state
