An Estates Attorney I at Gravis Law is a mid-level attorney with at least 3 years of experience practicing law. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as a supportive and autonomous work environment. The successful candidate will primarily receive work through Gravis Law's lead generation and marketing efforts, as well as referrals from other attorneys within the firm. The Estates Attorney I is also responsible for generating a portion of their own billable work and attending networking events. Coaching and support services for business development are available to all attorneys.
H2: Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Estates Attorney I
- Mediation experience is highly preferred. - Trial experience is a plus, but not required. - Conduct research and analysis on complex legal issues. - Prepare legal documents such as memorandums, briefs, and letters. - Market your services and the firm's services to potential clients. - Perform discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information for litigation purposes. - Conduct due diligence on legal matters related to contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions. - Communicate and advise clients on legal matters. - Manage a schedule to allow for consultations and closure of consultations. - Close consultations within Gravis Law's target range. - Timely approval of invoices is critical to the health of the business. - Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive. - Keep client information and invoices up-to-date in the firm's system. - Share work tasks with other attorneys and support staff if over-subscribed. - Actively engage in personal and firm brand expansion through various channels. - Seek positive feedback and reviews from satisfied clients. - Other job-related duties as assigned.
H2: Requirements for an Estates Attorney I
- Excellent writing and interpersonal skills. - Strong legal research skills. - Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school. - Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the bar in the state where you intend to practice. - At least 3 years of experience as an attorney.

The average annual billing expectation for an Estates Attorney I is 1500 hours, with collections expected on 1400 hours of invoices worked. This equates to approximately 30 billable hours per week for 50 weeks per year.
The salary for an Estates Attorney I at Gravis Law is $90,000-$100,000 per year, with potential for bonuses based on meeting quarterly collection requirements.
